SE 06
SE 06
The dining chair SE 06 was designed in 1960 by Martin Visser. The chair can be delivered in a natural or black saddle leather. In September 2010 a new color, elegant dark brown was added. The frames are made of matt chrome-plated metal. Since 2016 the frame is also available in black powder-coating.
Natural leather is a non colored leather and will darken under the influence of light. It will be delivered in an almost pink tone and fade into a warm cognac tone. The time it will take to fade from a pink into a cognac tone will depend of the amount and the kind of light, but it will take at least several months.
Saddle leather will also stretch a little over time. Any marks on the leather should not be considered as faults. These merely confirm the authenticity and quality of saddle leather.
The leather seat has a lace at the bottom, which gives the possibility to tighten the seat after a while.
Nowadays (since the end of the nineties) all dining chairs from Martin Visser, designed around 1960, have a different seat height compared to the original design. In general the average length of people is taller than 45 years ago, which made it ergonomically unjustified to maintain the old seat height. The frame is raised with 3 cm, which makes it 48 cm. high at the front part of the frame.
In the same range also a version with natural rattan (SE05), plywood seat and back, finished with oak veneer (SE 08) or upholstery (SE 07) is available.
