Coppibartali Sospensione
Coppibartali Sospensione
The Coppibartali was designed by Mario Nanni for Viabizzuno when an overseas project presented a massive logistical challenge: how to ship a grand, large-scale luxury chandelier that could withstand a long, complex journey while requiring minimal packaging. The solution was born from the world of cycling: the bicycle chain!
Nanni developed a patented mechanical chain system to link ribbed glass cylinders together, allowing the chandelier's geometric shape to flex, bend, and wrap around itself like a real chain. This system allows the geometry of the lamp to be infinitely customized, uncoiling into a sweeping overhead suspension or folding down into an intimate table or floor and wall light, reducing the shipping volume to an absolute minimum.
Crafted as an IP20-rated indoor fixture made of oxidized aluminum, brass joints, and internally ribbed glass, the design strikes a stunning balance between industrial utility and modern grandeur.
